DiGiCo UK & Group One Ltd. Showcase New & Notable Pro Audio Products At 2012 WFX Conference & Expo
DiGiCo UK and its U.S. distributor Group One Ltd. are pleased to showcase the following new and notable products at the Worship Facilities Conference & Expo. Below, you’ll find a snapshot of what will be featured at the booth.

1.  NEW! DiGiCo SD5
A decade after the launch of the D5 Live, British audio solutions manufacturer DiGiCo launches its new incarnation, the SD5. As you would expect, the SD5 fits directly into the D5’s shoes, but benefits from the advancements made possible by DiGiCo’s proprietary Stealth Digital Processing™. “We’ve evolved a lot over the past decade, both in terms of the way we use the available technology and our understanding of what our customers really want and need,” says DiGiCo’s managing director, James Gordon. “SD5 is the culmination of that combined knowledge, so we want to make it the next generation D5 Live.”

2. NEW! SD Software & Firmware Upgrades
2012 marks three major milestones in DiGiCo’s history: the anniversary of 40 years since the birth of Soundtracs, the company from which DiGiCo was born; 20 years since it made its first foray into digital consoles; and 10 years since DiGiCo took over the Soundtracs reins. To celebrate the occasion, DiGiCo has developed a series of software and firmware upgrades for its SD series of consoles—SD11, SD10, SD9, and SD8—that add more than just a little extra to its SD series of consoles. These upgrades contain a wealth of features that, in many cases, will expand the console’s capabilities by over 100%.

3. UB MADI
Until recently, MADI connectivity on your desktop or laptop required a format such as PCI or ExpressCard. This involves an inconvenient and time consuming set up operation on a desktop, whilst it is increasingly difficult to find a laptop with the necessary slot. DiGiCo Solutions’ UB MADI eliminates this frustration. UB MADI allows any computer to instantly connect to MADI via the most standard connector of all, USB 2.0. In fact, over the last decade, you would have been hard pushed to find any desktop or laptop without a USB 2.0 connection.

4. HOW Install Case Studies:
a. Grace Church, Glendora, CA: Grace replaced an outdated analog system with the DiGiCo SD9 Rack Pack system offering flexible features and a plethora of onboard processing, snapshot features, and effects which helped bring their wildly outdated analog system into the 21st century.

b. Trinity Church, Baltimore, MD: Limited inputs and failing electronics accelerated the need for this worship house to upgrade its audio system. A DiGiCo SD10 and a pair of SD Racks replaced aging analog consoles for FOH and monitors and solved mixing challenges by more than doubling the HOW's inputs, eliminated the need for a separate monitor input console for its Aviom system, and allowed the church to maximize its manpower.

c. Mountain Springs Church, Colorado Springs, CO: The decision to place a trio of DiGiCo SD consoles—an SD9 and two SD11s—uniformly across live and broadcast stations in two locations made it easier for MSC to streamline its equipment and training process for its volunteer-based audio tech team.

d. Crossings Community Church, Oklahoma City, OK: Struggling with an audio and video system that was installed over a dozen years ago and that no longer met the needs of its over 5,000-member congregation and numerous weekly services, CCC rejuvenated its A/V system by adding DiGiCo SD7, SD10 & SD10B consoles. Additionally, they replaced the copper infrastructure with a redundant fiber network, which saved the church money and streamlined the integration between live and broadcast applications.
